Brands Hatch's Weather Disrupts
Frost's Championship Charge

Brands Hatch, KENT

A weather-affected weekend at Brands Hatch proved frustrating for championship contender Ryan Frost, as heavy rain and red flags in both races stalled his momentum and saw him relinquish his lead in the standings — albeit by a narrow three-point margin.

Frost’s weekend began with a setback during qualifying when a high side incident left him starting from 11th on the grid for Race 1.
Undeterred, he delivered a calculated and aggressive performance in the opening laps, slicing his way through the pack and positioning himself in 5th place. Being back within the leading group and his strategy unfolding as planned, a sudden downpour forced officials to red flag the race, denying Frost the opportunity to mount a late-race charge.

Race 2 saw improved fortunes on the grid with a 6th-place start. Once again, Frost showed his trademark consistency and racecraft, holding a strong 5th position, again within the leading group that quickly broke away from the field. But just as the final laps approached — and with Frost poised to make his move — the heavens opened once more, bringing a second premature end to the weekend’s racing action.

Despite securing two solid fifth-place finishes, the weekend’s disruptions saw Frost surrender the championship lead. He now sits just three points off the top as the championship reaches its halfway point.

A disappointed Frost commented: “It was a mixed emotions weekend. We had the pace straight away from FP1 however two fifth places is not the way we wanted to end it. We knew we were going to be strong in the last few laps but with the rain stopping both races short we did not get the opportunity to make our moves and get onto the podium. It is still positive though with solid points on the board for the end of the year and the fight is very much still on for the Championship”.

The battle resumes at Thruxton on 8–10 August, where Frost will look to regain control in what is shaping up to be a thrilling championship fight.
