Snetterton, Norfolk
Ryan Frost emerged as the new R&G British Talent Cup Championship leader following an action-packed third round of the season at Snetterton, where he claimed a dramatic win and a hard-fought third-place finish across two thrilling races - all while battling illness throughout the weekend.
Frost was not feeling well due to a fever and stomach pains but showed remarkable resilience and determination to compete at the highest level despite his condition.
He began Race One from the second row after qualifying sixth and quickly slotted into the chasing pack in a frenetic opening few laps. The race took a dramatic turn on Lap 5 when the leader crashed out, followed shortly after by the new frontrunner who also went down. Frost capitalised on the chaos and climbed into podium contention, executing a bold last-lap overtake to cross the line in second place.
Post-race technical inspections revealed a rule infringement from the on-track winner, resulting in disqualification and handing the victory to Frost.
In Race Two, Frost started from third on the grid and once again delivered a mature and tactical performance. Despite not having the outright pace of some of his rivals, he remained in contention throughout the race and secured third place with yet another decisive final-lap move.
A very pleased Frost added: "It was a strong weekend for us. Snetterton has always been a bit of a bogey track for me—definitely not one of my favourites—and to top it off, I was feeling unwell all weekend. Despite that, we still came away with a win and a third place, which I'm absolutely thrilled about. Now we head to Brands Hatch leading the championship, and the battle is well and truly on."
With five podiums from six races, Frost now leads the Championship standings after three rounds—a testament to his consistency, race-craft, and sharp decision-making.
The championship battle resumes in one month’s time at the iconic Brands Hatch circuit, where Frost will aim to extend his lead and continue his impressive run of form.
