Double Podium for Frost in Challenging Silverstone Conditions
Silverstone, UK – 25th May 2025 –
British Talent Cup rider Ryan Frost delivered a sensational performance at Silverstone this weekend, securing two podium finishes in dramatically changing conditions.
Qualifying early on Saturday morning proved a true test, with the BTC bikes first on track after heavy overnight rain. A cold and greasy surface made for tricky conditions, and Frost managed a solid P10 start position in the challenging session.
With a dry track for Race 1 later that day, Frost wasted no time. In a phenomenal opening lap, he surged from 10th on the grid to take the lead by the end of Lap 1. What followed was a thrilling battle, with positions swapping every lap in a tightly contested front group. Frost eventually crossed the line in third place—just 0.125 seconds behind the race winner.
Crucially, he also clocked one of the fastest laps of the race, securing a front-row start in P2 for Sunday’s Race.
Sunday morning brought more drama, with dark skies and rainfall before the start leading to a wet race. Despite limited experience in wet conditions, Frost took an early lead and confidently set the pace. After being overtaken for the lead, he settled into his rhythm and stayed firmly within the podium group.
In the closing laps, as the battle for second and third intensified ahead of him, Frost showed maturity beyond his years. Approaching the final chicane, he positioned himself perfectly on the outside, anticipating the clash between the two riders ahead. As they slid off into the gravel trap, Frost dived underneath to claim a brilliant second place at the line.
“This weekend had everything – tough qualifying, dry and wet races, and some really hard racing,” said Frost. Saturday did not go all the way we wanted in the last few corners, especially after having won here last year but we got some solid points finishing P3. Sunday, waking up and seeing the weather, we did not expect to finish P2 but I got my head down starting on the front row and pushed on a little bit early on to stay in the front group. The team gave me a great bike and I kept my focus and I’m really proud of how we managed each session. Two podiums at Silverstone in front of the MotoGP Paddock is an amazing result.”
With three podiums now under his belt this season, Frost is currently 3rd overall in the Championship only 12 point behind the leader.
Next up, Snetterton on the 20th -22nd June.
